BORDERLINE by Nevin Aladağ
Art Space Pythagorion presents a solo show by artist Nevin Aladağ.
Titled Borderline, the exhibition will focus on the island‘s particular location, only eight hundred meters away from Turkish mainland, on the border between Europe and Asia. Through a set of video works, sound pieces and spatial interventions, temporalities such as borders and border transgressing, cultural identity and the notion of home, “proximity” and “distance” – which are anyway pertinent in Aladağ’s work – will be re-visited and discussed anew.
The official opening will be held in the presence of the artist on August 4, 2014 at 8 pm. After a prologue by the american poet and critic Quinn Latimer the reception will be opened.
Panel discussion: Wednesday, August 6, 8 pm
